Handicraft & Design
AUTUMN SEMESTER 2020/2021
The course is for all who have previous experience in knitting and are interested in mastering the principles of pattern colour composition and knitting techniques of traditional Estonian knitwear. The course develops the ability to design and execute knitwear that is suited to modern times by interpreting the tradition.
Is your wardrobe ready for 3 new self-sewed items made from trash? The course is for all who have basic sewing skills and are into fashion, yet also into saving the world from over manufacturing and consumption.
This practical course concentrates on the solutions to recycling the leftovers produced by local clothes and textile manufacturers. The leftover fabric poses a great challenge in the textile and fashion industry and traditionally ends up on a landfill. The course offers a chance to visit a couple of companies and cooperate with them to finish an item or a collection of items.
