University of Tartu Centre for Arts
In 2017, the Centre for Arts was opened in the Old Anatomical Theatre in Tartu. The centre offers courses for all students at the University of Tartu as well as for the continuing education learners to acquire new knowledge and skills and develop creativity in the fields of arts. More than half of the courses are also available for foreigners as the courses are either entirely in English or the lecturer instructs individually both in Estonian or as well in English if needed. University of Tartu Centre for Arts:
- coordinates art studies at the university;
- aims to find ways how art studies can support students in their specialty studies by bridging art and different fields of science;
- brings courses taught at Viljandi Culture Academy closer to the students in Tartu;
- offers optional courses in the fields of visual arts, music, multimedia, self-expression, crafts and dance art.
The centre is situated in Tartu, but is part of the University of Tartu Viljandi Culture Academy (75 km from Tartu).
