I have been working at the University of Tartu Viljandi Culture Academy since 1999 teaching dance, theater, music and leisure time manager students. The current position of dance pedagogy lecturer at the Performing Arts Department includes subjects in pedagogy of the performing arts, movement research, creative game, creative dance, dance teaching didactics, dance teacher practice and 21st century dance pedagogy. I supervised a number of seminar papers and theses of dance teacher. Topics include creative dance, contemporary dance pedagogy, reflection. As continuing education courses I carried out a number of creative game, creative dance, creative movement and dance education courses of physical education teachers, kindergarten teachers, Waldorf teachers and folk dance teachers. I am a certified teacher of kundalini yoga since 2012 and a shakti Dance since 2013.
In 2018, I defended my doctoral thesis "The procedure of guided core reflection for supporting the professional development of novice dance teachers" and was awarded a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Education. The work was supervised by Professor Äli Leijen (PhD; University of Tartu) and Professor Eeva Anttila (PhD; Theater Academy, University of the Arts Helsinki) and opponent was Associate Professor Inkeri A.-M. Ruokonen (PhD; University of Helsinki).
Since 2009, I have the specialist of continuing education in Performing Arts Department, both by dance, theater and visual technology related continuing training for professionals and practitioners.
Based on my professional experience, I have published books on „Creative Play. A selection of games and activities for all ages” (2011); “Dance Movement in Elementary School Physical Education” (2012); “Creative dance. Basic Elements of Dance“ (2016) and „Modern Dance Pedagogy“ (2018). In 2018, I received the Gerd Neggo Dance Teacher Scholarship.
