Jürgen Volmer graduated Baltic Film and Media School in spring 2015, after which he started working as a freelance filmmaker, under Nojah Film name. His interest in theatre and folklore brought him collaborations with different creative groups, many including Viljandi Culture Academy alumni.
In 2016 he started Folklore MA in Tartu University and started working with biographies and life stories as a basis for film and theatre dramaturgy. Currently he is working on a biographical film project called "Encounters". From 2017, him and Katariina Unt have been developing acting course, in which camera plays an important part. Also he is teaching film specific subjects to theatre visual technology curriculum. Has been working as a film teacher since 2014 (BFM Kids Film School, HIK Film and literature course, Rapla Gymnasium - film studies course).
