Alumni of the Academy Among Estonian Theatre Award Nominees
On March 27th Estonian Theatre Union will proclaim Estonian Theatre Awards at Endla Theatre in Pärnu. There are many alumni from the Performing Arts Department of the academy among the nominees.
List of on our alumni among nominees for Estonian Theatre Award:
Production of the Year: „Carrmen!“ by Vanemuine Theatre - choreographer and director Ruslan Stepanov (alumnus of Dance Arts, 2002).
Designer of the Year: Nele Sooväli, Oliver Kulpsoo (alumnus of Performing Arts Visual Technology, lighting design, 2003) and Martin Makarevitš (alumnus of Performing Arts Visual Technology, lighting design, 2010); design for the „Yellow Dust of the Evenings“ by Von Krahl Theatre.
Special Award by Jury of Plays: „Throwing Hundred Men on the Back“ by Endla Theatre - director Kaili Viidas (alumnus of Theatre Arts, 2007).
Salme Reek Award: Kristel Leesment and Siim Angerpik (student of Theatre Arts 2003-2008) - director and actor in „Hansel and Gretel“ by Tartu New Theatre.
Male Supporting Actor Award: Tarvo Vridolin (alumnus of Theatre Arts, 1997) for Griffin Montgomery in „The Night Heron“, for Lebedev in "Idiot" and for parts in „American Buffalo“ and „Wyrd Sisters“.
Dance Award in Musical, Ballet and Dance area:
- Henri Hütt "Sphere Islands" (in order to dance)" by Kanuti Gildi SAAL (alumnus of Dance Arts, 2010);
- Ruslan Stepanov "Carrrmen!" by Vanemuine (alumnus of Dance Arts, 2002);
- Renate Valme and Company Nii "Bud" by Nii/STÜ (alumnus of Dance Arts, 2002).
