Excellent Support Service
The University of Tartu is one of the best places for international students
According to the results of the International Student Barometer (ISB) survey, conducted in the summer of 2009 by I-Graduate among international students in Estonia, the country in general and the University of Tartu, in particular, are among the best places in Europe for international students to study and live. Estonia starred in Internet access, accommodation quality and affordability, safety, living costs.
Getting started at the university is easy. Each semester starts with Orientation Days for international students, where students get to know the university, the city and each other. All international students get a personal tutor to assist them with the arrival, settling in the dormitories, course registration and other practical issues before arrival and during their stay here.
Professional, full-time International Student Service
With the growing numbers of international students, more effort is being put into developing the support structures and services to help them better integrate into university life and get the most of their study abroad or degree abroad experience. The International Student Service, with its counsellors and advisors, is the first point of contact for incoming students.
Dedicated programme managers
Each of the international degree programmes has a devoted programme manager who can always provide international students with help and advice in regards to the academic aspects of their studies. Many students also find our lecturers and professors easy to approach and helpful.
